when I click on Show Layout Designer
It return
"Panel content has been updated."

Dont show the add row and region anymore

---------------------
Step by step

Create a panel node, select Flexible, write something on it (test page) and save, then return to the node, click on edit, go to Panel Content Tab

So far you will see only 1 region (CENTER)

when i click on Show Layout Designer (when I hope to add new rows and regions) it return this message

Panel content has been updated.

and dont show the commands to add rows and regions like old versions did

-------------

ps: i install Panels 3 and ctools 1.3 (didnt have Panels 2 on my website)

Subscribimg, I have the same issue

Anonymous’s picture

Yup, have the same problem on all recent builds, even on Vanilla Installs. I suspect that part of the problem comes from having content on the panel in the form of a node. If you empty the panel or remove all node items, the thing works fine. I tested mine and it works now, annoying every time I have to resize something cause i have to remove the node content stuff first then redo after resizing. But it works.

That's really weird. It works fine for me with content in it. Is there an error message in the javascript console?

Anonymous’s picture

Nope, no error message. It just goes round in a loop with a node loaded into the panel, and works great without. I will have to do another Vanilla Build to try it out again, but thats whats working for me at the moment. I'm suspecting conflict somewhere between CCK, Jquery, Jquery UI, Panels and Ctools. Which probably means anywhere :)

Well, the behavior of the button indicates that somehow the javascript is not attaching to the button, so it falls back to the default behavior of submitting; and that doesn't do anything, because this system is currently not degradable.

I've never had this happen, so I guess it means that some content or some other module is breaking this. It's difficult ot tell where without starting from zero and adding stuff until you can get it to break.

Here is a thought. Is there anyway we can stop Panels from executing HTML (in this case the content) in the "backoffice" and leave that functionality to the "front office"? Or even have a sort of "Safe button" where if you experience this, you hit it and have a "non-html executing panel in the back office"?

Panels Module Behaves Differently across Different Browsers.

In Internet Explorer 8, on the Basic Settings > Choose layout > Panel content page, the Regions are visible and available; however, when I click on the gear icon and select "add content" -- the file download dialog box pops up rather than the page. This does not occur in other modules (e.g. Advertisement -- works perfectly). The type of layout selected was 3 column stacked but that doesn't seem to matter either. Other layout types react the same. In addition, the Region section does not display consistently in IE. Most of the time, the add content section behaves the same as in Opera and Firefox; however, approximately one out of seven times, the Region section may show up in IE.

In Firefox the Regions are not visible and I am unable to add content.

Opera behaves the same as Firefox.

In Safari, the Regions are visible; however, when I click on the add content link, I receive the code for the page rather than the page as shown below.

I have checked the Apache and .htaccess configuration files and they are configured properly. Besides, as stated before, this anomaly only occurs in this module.

I have attached screen shots of the error messages.

Using the Ad_novus fluid theme. Experimented with other themes and found that the panels module operates as it should.
