With Views 6.x-3.x coming along soon it would be nice for Draggable Views to work with it. Currently I don't believe it works.

Is there already a developers guide that guides me from views2 to 3... ?

I don't think there is such a guide. I'm not sure that one will be written, necessarily.

Should somebody ask about a developers guide on the views queue?

I can help to sponsor this if needed.

Actually it works surprisingly well! I've tested it on some sites without major problems. The only problems I can find is with the exports. But we are on a good way solving it here: #873436: Not exportable (using views 3)

I'm using 6.x-3.x-dev (2011-Jan-21) seems it's working fine for me

#873436 relates to exports, and the fixes for the d6 and D7 only correct the export issue.

As far as I can tell, DraggableViews 6.x-2.x-dev does not support Views 3 as it throws lots of errors, and Views with draggable rows can not be saved; at least not in combination with 'Flag Weights'.

Environment:

  • Views 3
  • Flag 6.x-2.0-beta6
  • Flag Weights (6.x-1.x-dev)
  • draggableviews (6.x-3.x-dev)

According to the maintainer of Flag Weights, his module does work with Views 3; so the problem seems to be caused by DraggableViews.

Related issue and more details: #1661624: Incompatible with Views 3?.

Reopening as there seems no other active issue regarding the Views 3 compatibility.

Following the instructions at http://drupal.org/node/356781 together with the views error messages I got this working for Views 3.

A couple of key points (as the errors state):
- Order by Flags Weight asc
- Draggable Table settings tick the "Show input fields?" under Order Field

Marking as close wont fix as 6.x is now unsupported
