Hi,

I have 2 vocabulary hierarchies that represent continent > country > region > city , in 2 languages : french and english.
They are not imported in drupal yet.

In taxonomy translation mode (d6 admin), i have 2 options that i'm interested in:

1- Per language terms. Different terms will be allowed for each language and they can be translated.

2- Set language to vocabulary. The vocabulary will have a global language and it will only show up for pages in that language.

I'm not sure about what is the difference between these 2 options.
Basically, i just want to show 1 hierarchy per language. If the user is french, only french hierarchy is displayed. If the user is english only english is displayed.

Right now, i just have the impression that both options will give the same result which means that i haven't understood one of them...could you help me understand the differences better and chose the right option for my case?

This is a restriction that you can not assign a language for hierarchy. If you want to use one vocabulary for both English and French cities so first option is your choice. But you have to assign language for each term manually or with database query.

I prefer second option. The only disadvantage here is that you have to take care of two vocabularies (two time set-ups etc).
