Hello folks
I have 2 queries today:
How will Drupal 7 handle i18n? Does it? Will it also require modules added to it like Drupal 6?
The other is ....I would like to build a wiki site where content can be created in English but eventually will be translated into a second language. The second language will be/is the main language and english ought to fade into the background. I am presuming that the i18N is the solution? If so, where can I find some site briefs about how others did it? The whole picture I mean - what modules they used, how their site works, tricks and tweaks etc. Do I build in D6 and be able to upgrade?
Much appreciated

Likemind
Likemind Web Services have a great introduction post about Localisation vs/and Internationalisation for D6.

Francois Planque
Francois has a very early blog post that explains the abbreviations i18n and l10n

In fact I really really like his B2Evolution software and wish one day that it would be in Drupal core!
Greg Knaddison
Greg has an half hour screencast which is fabulous:

There's something about seeing it in action that helps.
News about D7 i18n?
Hi!
Anyone has any news on how D7 i18n will be different (if at all) from D6? I have checked alpha1 and alpha2 of D7 but there seems to be no difference GUI-wise in i18n between d6 and d7.
No menu translation no block translation in d7 in core. So how will this be tackled?
I really would like to know
