this was a known bug at the time of releasing unstable3
it is somehow related to a core's taxonomy bug, but we can't wait until they handle theirs to get ours done

the core's taxonomy bug is #716788: option none causes "Invalid argument supplied for foreach()" when previewing
which is no longer an issue for handling option "none" of non-required non-tag vocabularies
