Public search doesn't work in K2

Description
The search bar in the sidebar doesn't work in K2. Regular search, (/search) does work fine.
I have search enabled in the theme settings.
Sidebar searches work fine in other themes. I've even tried pasting in the search bar to the template from working themes.
Any suggestions?
