Request new password not working

I have the Register with Picture 6.x-1.4 installed and it works great for new registers. I have encountered a problem with existing members who have lost their passwords and need to use the Request new password option. Once they do this process the system keeps telling them that they have to upload a picture even if they already have one and even if they try to upload a new one the error keeps looping saying that they need to upload a picture. Any help is appreciated, this is a feature that is needed for my site. I keep getting users registering without pics and it is ugly. Also this same problem occurs when I as Admin try to create a password for them and save the new one, the error loop need to upload picture occurs with this as well. Only when I tick mark a picture field is not required under Register with Picture settings does this problem go away, but then no picture will be uploaded unless they want to add one, defeats the purpose of the module.
