Mailhandler produces strange "m" output on My Account pages

Since updating to 4.7, every account page lists a mailhandler section that contains the following:
Mail Handler
m
m
This is very bizarre behavior, and I'm wondering if this is a bug or just something silly I'm not doing. The "m" part makes me think this is a bug.
Have others solved this problem?

I have not found a solution but would like to add that in addition to the add m & m bug, in 4.7 mailhandler doesn't seem to retreive mail from valid aliases as defined with mailalias.
It seems to retreive just fine from email sent by a user's primary address but not from alias adresses.

I haven't tried it yet, but a kludgy workaround probably would be to style the m class as hidden. This would hide the output, although not get rid of it entirely.
The mailalias bug sounds much worse. Murphy, have you filed a bug request on this?
