Hello and firstly thanks so much for making the best module ever. well my favorite.

I use your module of my webpage as my homepage I am in love with it, really addicted.

It is almost almost excatly what I want but atleast nothing comes closer.

Can I ask you, (I have no idea about code!)
what would it take to get the search query phrase recorded and counted or displayed in a block, I don't care about which search engine or anything else, I just wish I could have something like a block that would automatically throw the latest phrase and how many clicks visits it has had.

Would that be useful? How would one go about getting something like that made? Am I crazy or does it sound like useful to the rest of the drupal community.

thanks

I'm afraid this is a bit out of scope for the search engine referers module, which is intended as a simple lightweight module.

I think it's better to get this kind of feature from more advanced tools like google analytics (http://drupal.org/project/google_analytics).

Thanks Soxofaan,
I looked into the analytics module a long time ago and found from all the information prior to trying it that it does a whole heap of things I am not that interested in because other modules already do the same.

thing is the search module inside the site does tell you the phrases but not what is searched from google. I also have now hidden the links to my search (although it is used if there is a 404) instead I am using google adsense search - which is a nice way to use advertising without it really looking so much like advertising.

Back on topic - I still believe that search engine referers module holds so much potential for a direction to develop.

1. I imagine that if the search phrases were listed and even shown to visitors in a block - it would give the members of the site an idea of what topics to write about. What better thing to write about than what people are looking for.

2. Once that search phrase has been written about and you become number 1 on google for it, then write about the next most popular search phrase...

This gives sites a way to get into very tight competitive areas by aiming at phrases that the bigger sites have overlooked.

mmmm I think I am ranting now, I should see if google analytics does this.
