The description of image_im_advanced at http://groups.drupal.org/node/6699 says that "advanced options are used on all image operations in Drupal – not just in Image module", but http://drupal.org/node/547932 suggests that "Strip metadata from images" is not supported for ImageAPI.
Is this true? And if so would it be possible for ImageAPI module to use all "ImageMagick Advanced Options" like Image module does ?

joachim commentedYou might want to reassign this to the ImageAPI project.

Scott J commentedHa haaa, the question came from imageAPI project! I was trying to find a maintainer of "ImageMagick Advanced Options" module, or someone with more experience with it.
Is anyone maintaining it? Perhaps imageAPI would like to adopt it....?
joachim commentedWell I am a co-maintainer of the Image project, but this is an old project that has been through several pairs of hands, and I know nothing whatsoever about ImageMagick. If anyone wants to volunteer to maintain that particular module, that would be fantastic. I'm open to suggestions for moving it to ImageAPI too.

sunThe ImageMagick image toolkit contained in Image module is basically unmaintained.
ImageAPI provides a better implementation, which has been ported to D7 already. The future of overall ImageMagick support for currently discussed over in #1028876: Future of ImageMagick toolkit
