The blue header image header_bottom_bg.jpg, background of div#header-bottom, seems to be positioned 1 pixel too high when compared to the color bar running across the background.

This is not a bug but a feature :)
Indeed we (meaning me) decided to push the image 1 pixel up to give the shadow more visual effect.

OK, maybe I'm the only one who perceived it as a bug, but I like to think that a bug is a bug if users see it as such - regardless of what the designer meant. Let's postpone this and see if others feel the need to add to this thread. If not, I must be the only one.

Maybe we should offset it one pixel more, so it looks deliberate and not like an error. Renamed issue and re-activated it.

I still prefer no offset at all. Here are some screenshots of no offset, 1px offset (as it's set in the theme now) and 2px offset. Opinions please?
