create content > page, then disable the blocks for this page on the block administration site.
for some more advanced stuff, create a new content type similar to the page content type and create a separate template just for this particular content type, see documentation on themeing on how to do this.
Funny that's the same place I directed you to... - I even directed you to the theming part of the documentation and hinted at using templates. So, using this information, you should've went to Documentation > Theming Guide > (About Theming) > Drupal 6 theme guide > Anatomy of a Drupal 6 theme > template files (a step-by-step guide as to where you need to look and how you'd found it).
That's a shortcut and gets you some of the information you need, the documentation offers a lot more info because there's lots to learn about Drupal. The general consensus is that for someone totally new to Drupal it takes about a day to set up a fairly basic site without any customisation. Throw in a couple of modules and a theme and you're looking at another two or three days but to learn how to customise Drupal to fit your needs (which is what you're doing), you're at least busy for a month learning the basics (more if your previous knowledge of php is fairly limited).
Drupal is way more complex than most other open source CMS out there, it still allows you to get a basic site up and running in a short time (unlike other beasts, e.g. Typo3).
P.S. I truly believe in reading the documentation before using a software as complex as Drupal, and the handbook structure should've guided you straight to a place where you'd have found some of the answers you're seeking and enabled you to come back with more precise questions.
I suggest buying a book. It took me at least 3-4 months to get a site up and running with modules (no custom). I had no php knowledge. This forum help a TON, but a book will provide you will a lot of definitions for terms and a basic outline of how drupal works. I would not classify the system as difficult, but its certainly not easy. I have a long, long, long way to go and am kinda learning as I go.
The time you have spent to write those sentences hopefully more than 10 mins.I appreciate. But if you really know how to do it, can you share with us step by step?
Please do not show tons of info/books. I know there is info in website/google. I am asking question here for a quick solution. I think everybody's aim to ask question in forum for the quick and easy step by step solution. Lot of books there, lot of googling there...we can do. But something different that I am expecting from forum-easy and quick no history no showing tons of info and find there.....
no, you are nto undestnading the question. I want a page which should not have any blocks any menus just a simple page WITHOUT blocks and menus.(not the create page you r talking abt)
example: A page created by drupals "create page" lets say node number is: node/60
so when i will link this node/60(which made by drupals create page) from somewhere it will open in a new window and that node/60 (page) will not show any blocks, menus just only a page with body. I hope u understand.
I can disable the block for that page... thats ok but how to disable primary and secondary menus or even website title for that node/60
ok got you now, create a tpl file just for node/60 (use search for custom tpl files, easier than you think) then remove all the stuff you dont want. maybe give this http://drupal.org/project/custom_node_template a whirl and see how you get on.
sorry to be so honest and direct, but you're clearly incapable of achieving this yourself, which means, other than doing it yourself, you've got a few choices:
1. pay someone else to do it
2. look for another CMS that is easier for you to work with, Wordpress for example
if you're determined to achieve this on your own and with Drupal, then you have to spent a considerable amount of time reading Drupal books, watching Drupal videos, and reading and implementing tutorials, you need to invest up to 3 months full-time for this.
Obvious starting points, as mentioned before, are Drupal's own documentation, it's there for a reason!
why should I waste my time by spelling out a step-by-step guide if there's already one around? there is really just one step anyway: create a custom template. How? well, the page I've now directed you to tells you the page name, then just copy and paste from your node.tpl and change according to your needs. that's it, it's as simple as said. there's not much more to it. if you don't know how to do that, than I'm afraid you're a lost cause.
the ironic thing is the time you spent on this thread you could have read the damn documentation that was linked to (or as you said google or book) and had it solved 2 days ago.
Don't waste your time c2uk-- this poster has decided that research and reading documentation are not worth their time -- what they want is to be handed a custom step by step solution to each and every post without having to read or do anything for themselves.
