Is anyone working on or know of any Drupal implimentations of "Open 311", the public sector API for interoperability?
My organization currently has to rely on a costly proprietary software system to handle city information referal, so I was very interested to see this site http://Open311.org

I have a Drupal 6.x-based implementation of FixMyStreet.com - have a look at http://fixmystreet.org.nz

Now that the Open311 spec is bit more stable I'm looking at adding support. I intend to release the code back to d.o

I'm also interested to do an module for open311. @jonathan_hunt any progress? I don't know witch way is the best BTW...

I thinking create a module using the service module. Witch a configuration page where can assign fields of you node as the different field of the open311's xml API.

My ignorance is such that it would be helpful to know exactly what platforms are being used for this app in places like SF or DC, or are they custom code, or what? Certainly I've seen a fair amount of info on CityStat, for instance, and related apps, and have seen where folks have used Drupal in that context. In my own city they've just made a start on 311 and have committed to a proprietary SaaS vendor, WebQA, which to my mind has a lot of drawbacks. I've also been active in CiviCRM off and on over several years, and am wondering what if anything might be of value in what's been done there (runs as a Drupal module, so Drupal is the 'framework' underneath). Any info or links would be greatly appreciated. Meanwhile I'll try to educate myself based on what's on the open311 site.
