I recently upgraded from 6.15 6o 6.16 and have lost all ability to change or display default favicon. I rebuilt same site from database site on different server and am having the same problem. I've cleared site cache and browser cache about 50 times, and used 5 different computers to test using IE/FF and chrome.

I am stuck where to look next. I even remade the custom favicon icon from scratch again. I'm pretty sure I'm overlooking something basic, but am not sure where else to look. I've changed the default theme, I've tried global and individual settings, clearing cache each time and still have no joy ??

For testing, please go to : Administrator -> Site building -> Themes -> Configure
path: yoursite.com/admin/build/themes/settings

Please check "Shortcut icon" box under Toggle display for your default theme.

In Global setting-> Uncheck "Use the default shortcut icon" under Shortcut icon settings.
Re-upload a shortcut icon (favicon). Save and cleared site cache.

If you are using your own theme, please do the test under Themes -> Configure -> your theme name.
If you have a copy of your old shortcut icon (please use it) or use a drupal favicon icon for test purpose.
