Hello,
I'm currently searching for a solution for image handling and WYSIWYG editor. What I need, is a basic editor, image upload and image browser. There will be around 50+ images, so it would be nice if they could be put into different folders.
I tried Image Assist and CKeditor. On their own they are both fine, but they seem not to work together. Probably because CKeditor is more meant to work with their own CKfinder, which is not free.
So, any suggestions, what editor and image handler combinations there are?

I have a requirement for non web-savvy users to be able to post simple articles with images. I do not want them to see too much complexity or to be able to do too much damage either by uploading huge amounts of data, or deleting server data.
I use IMCE and it works fine with CKeditor. You can have it limit access for each user (of a specific role) to their own directory (which it will create) where they can upload images. They can also be given a quota for data and it will automatically resize image that are too large.
You can also give them read only access to other directories.
CKeditor + wysiwyg_imageupload
Hello,
you might want to have a look at http://drupal.org/project/wysiwyg_imageupload .. a screencast of what it looks like can be found here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LEKpvI1G8qE.
You can use this image upload integration with all editors supported by the WYSIWYG module ( http://drupal.org/project/wysiwyg ).
Pepole are using ckeditor and wysiwyg_imageupload, iam right now using tyinmce and wysiwyg_imageupload.
Have fun
