Login block popup (similar to lightbox functionality)

Hello,

I am wanting to add the login block popup functionality seen when using lightbox2, but was wondering if there is another way besides installing lightbox2. I don't need any of the other features in lightbox2 and would just like my login block to popup in a cool way for anonymous users.

Would anyone be able to help?

i am still getting redirect to a page when the password is incorrect (not being dealt in the popup box)
can anyone please assist?

The Colorbox Module has this feature and its an easier implementation compare to ajax register module. However they both have the same problem. When the user inputs in the wrong field they get redirected elsewhere. Just like what you stated.
