Who maintains the troll module? It's an extremely important module (providing a basic functionality most websites need), but there are significant bugs and feature requests stuck in the queue. Is it still being maintained and are there any alternatives to it - something that may be maintained more regularly?

Judging from the response, it doesn't appear it is being actively maintained but was at least updated to 4.7.

I agree this is sorely needed. The existing module seems to have a serious flaw, though. It appears to only track and block registered users. If you run an open site, most of the trouble makers are unregistered anonymous users. This module doesn't appear to track the IP address of every visitor, just registered users.

I'm not sure it even tracks multiple IP addresses of a registered user logging in from home, work, dialup, wi-fi, etc.

I've been doing stuff, though I don't consider myself "the maintainer," and I don't script for Drupal for a living, so if you want stuff fixed, you can bug me, but I might ignore you.
