I was cleaning out some users (test users etc.), and I accendentally erased the user recognized by the system as user ID 1.
Is it possible to change the user ID number of an existing member (i.e. myself) to be user ID 1, and how do I do this?

You can use phpmyadmin if you have it? If you don't have it, well... you should! ;o)

In your database
I have been through this. I used phpMyAdmin to access the database on a second drupal test site that I have, and I copied all the values for that user1 over into the site for which I was having problems. That seemed to work well for me, though it'll be an annoying workaround if you don't already have a second site set up. You can find all the relevant info for user1 in the 'users' table of your test site's drupal database. Good luck!
