I think users should be able to see this link too in order to allow them to initiate a ticket more easily.

I've been going back and forth with this one for some time.

I want the concept of a ticket to be completely transparent to the customer. While I would like them to be able to view the "thread" of communications, I think the creation of tickets is best left to the contact module/direct email depending on your setup.

Perhaps the link on the customer view should be to the contact page or an embedded 'mailto' (depending on setup)? I definitely want to display the trail of communications to the customer, I just don't think I want them interfacing directly with uc_ticket.

If anyone has an opinion on this, please feel free to add it to the discussion here.

I agree with #0, "users should be able to see this link too in order to allow them to initiate a ticket more easily."
This allow user to create the ticket directly from the order itself, useful especially when the user have made multiple orders.

Using the contact page is not ideal when the Order ID list doesn't contain any information on what that customer have ordered.
Furthermore, at the moment, a ticket is not created when the user submit a form using contact page if e-mail integration is not used.
