Hi, I am running an Acquia implementation of the Apache Solr Search v 6.x-1.5118.

There seems to be a lot of questions surrounding this topic but, having read them all, I'm still not sure what the answer is. This is probably down to my lack of expertise but I was wondering if there was a simple way of doing this.

I have set up a new CCK field (Text Area, multiple rows) which I would like to have indexed just the way the Body is. I dont need any new facet created I just need keyword searches to return results based on the word matches within this field. I dont even need it to be indexed separately, I am happy for the text within this field to be treated as though it was in the Body (ie not like this http://drupal.org/node/370843).

According to pwolanin "The rendered content of all cck fields is already indexed as part of the node body" (http://drupal.org/node/477022). Does this mean that I only have to "switch it on" in some way (cos the search engine is definitely not returning keyword results from this field by default)?

Also, I dont want this field to be displayed as part of the general overall node content display and so I have "Excluded" it in both the "Teaser" and the "Full Node" at admin/content/node-type/content-type/display. However, according to janusman "If you set a CCK field display to "hidden", keyword searches won't match that field" ( http://drupal.org/node/283859). Are we talking about the same thing here? (I unticked the "Exclude" boxes but it made no difference to the keyword search results).

FYI None of my CCK fields are listed at admin/settings/apachesolr/query-fields

After unticking the "exclude" boxes you need to re-index Solr. Have you tried that?
