Hi,

@FrankCarey
I would like to take over Private Message Limits.
The module has had no commit since July 2009 and no activity since November. I have made some improvement over the current status (the module as is does not work anymore), and offer to be the new maintainer of the project (or a co-maintainer).

On April 10th I will move this issue to the webmasters queue.
Thanks

@artscoop - I'd love to see some patches submitted first if you have improvements.

Hi,
Glad you answered. You can find a version of the module here : http://drupal.org/node/746160
It makes the module work again, at least with PrivateMsg 6.x-2.x.dev.

@artscoop - thank you for spending time on making this a better module. Perhaps you are new to drupal, but the the proper way to fix issues for a module on drupal.org is to make issues for each problem in the queue, then create and submit patches so they can be reviewed by the community, once they have been reviewed they are committed to the dev version, and then a release is made. Why don't you start by creating a solid issue for each of the problems that is causing this module to no longer work with private messages, and then submit your patches to those issues. If you can do that, we can more easily work together to get this module working properly with privatemsg 2.x.

@artscoop - just so you understand about numbers of commits. I personally don't like CVS for my version control, I use subversion. This module was created under subversion the point where it worked with privatemsg, and then was committed all at once. As there have been to patches to this module, there has been nothing more for me to commit.

I am closing this issue, since there haven't been follow-up actions as described in Taking over unsupported (abandoned) projects.

(I edited a typo in the link.)
