Hi
I am not a technie. Started using drupal recently and loved the features and plugins.

But the input formats are not user friendly and is a pain. It has default Filtered HTML, PHP and HTML so the user has to know bit of programming and codes to post.

For eg. in the lines below copied from Yahoo News, "President Bush" should be hyperlinked to http://search.news.yahoo.com/search/news/?p=President+Bush but it does not appear as hyperlink.

" NEW YORK - An impromptu back rub that President Bush gave German Chancellor Angela Merkel is now massaging millions of funny bones. "

How do we set the input format so that it is user friendly like Microsoft Word ? i.e. when I copy the above into Microsoft Word, the hyperlink is automatically embedded and appears like in Yahoo News

Would very much appreciate your help.
Thanks :)

Try using the TinyMCE editor module. This javascript editor accepts copy/paste from other programs. However the module is not set up by default to be fully xhtml 1.0 strict. If this is not a concern for you (or you need to find out how to change it) you can always visit the TinyMCE site to learn how to set those settings correctly. Here's the link to the editor: http://drupal.org/project/tinymce

is used on drupal.org- it automatically converts web addresses to hyperlinks and is 100x easier to install than TinyMCE.
