I just came across a novel website, http://www.paperbackswap.com/index.php and was wondering if anyone has ever attempted to do anything like this in drupal. I have a little drupal experience, but would not know where to start on building a module like this.

I am thinking that it would not be difficult, you would need to allow users to be able to add or delete books that they have available, and create a master list of all the users books. All the shipping would be done off of the site, so there would not be a need for e-commerce.

Paperbackswap has a point system, where users are only able to trade a certain number of books/ number they have available. I think that this is a little limiting, however it may come in useful for some scenarios.

Another idea of using this module in a different way is http://danecountytimebank.org/ where instead of swapping books, people swap their time and skills.

Am I out on a limb here, or are their other people who could use a module like this?
