Hello All,
I'm web developer and I'll be going to work on big project very soon which is required to develop using open source CMS.
I'll have to make sure about SEO related stuff within entire website.
I'd like to know which CMS is the best from SEO point of view as someone told me that it's better to go with wordpress/joomla if you think from SEO perspective.
Can anyone share his/her personal experience?
Thanks for your help
Steve.

Joomla better from a SEO perspective? This person doesn't know what he's talking.
You've got plenty of SEO modules available for Drupal: http://drupal.org/node/745186
though, I'd warn you to make the decision purely based on their respective SEO capabilities, and to limit yourself to these three OS CMS.
If you're going to do big
If you're going to do big project you need Drupal. If you're familiar with Wordpress there is also good support for SEO but you need lots of hooks, so you'll be again back to Drupal ;). Maybe you can use TYPO3 but that's a totally different story. Joomla... who use Joomla anymore?
Drupal Is Good In SEO
I think Drupal has a better SEO than Joomla. You can also add some modules to your Drupal site such as Pathauto, Global Redirect, and Node Words to make your Drupal site more search engine friendly.
I have written about using Pathauto and Global Redirect module in my blog. Maybe you want to read them.

Drupal is the best CMS for SEO. Period.
I may be biased having written the book on Drupal SEO, however, I've evaluated Joomla and Wordpress quite extensively. Drupal is the best IF you do all the things that you should do to SEO it. In other words, out of the box, it's not great for SEO - the modules you add make it better than any other platform. Now, you might accuse me of trying to sell books :) and you'd be right. So, here's what you do if you don't want to buy anything:
First, download & install the SEO Checklist module. http://drupal.org/project/seo_checklist
and do everything that it recommends.
Second, if you need more in-depth instruction on how to do SEO for Drupal, then buy Drupal 6 Search Engine Optimization from Packt Publishing: http://budurl.com/drupalseoebook
OR, dig through a bunch of forum posts and interact on the chats. It's a slower way to get the same info but free. There's also an SEO session at Drupalcon in SF if you're going. Put on by Jen Lampton and Rob Bertholf - some of the smart people over at Chapter Three. http://sf2010.drupal.org/conference/sessions/search-engine-optimization-...
Now, because you did ask for "personal experience" I'll share a quick story. We had a client hire us who was using Joomla. Long story short, we worked with a developer to migrate him to a Drupal Ubercart (ecommerce) solution. Within 48 hours of the migration, he had moved to front page in Google and his traffic increased by 20%. We wanted to issue a press release ("Drupal Rocks for SEO, Saves Local Business", but he didn't want his competitors to know his secret: that he was using Drupal. HA!
Cheers,

‘Contents is King’ for SEO
Quality of the web contents and site performance are very important for SEO. Your template design is also very important. Domain age, name, Data connection speed, external links and internal links also help to get a good ranking in a search engine.
Well written single page website (HTML 4.0 based) can get a top ranking. Any CMS (Drupal, eZ publish, wordpress, Joomla, Modx, etc.) is fine and best for SEO.
In January 2010 my site lost top 10 ranking (with keyword “日本製” and “nihonsei” in Yahoo Japan and in Google Japan. I was disappointed and planned never to use Drupal. I tested many other CMS for SEO purpose. I noticed my old website based on html 4.0 was the best for SEO to fullfil my dream to get in top 10 with some keywords. I wanted a dynamic website so I started to use CMS.
Drupal is best for me because it has everything that I want for my website. I need to follow all SEO techniques or rules to get my website again in top ranking with some particular keywords.
Case study:
Search with keyword “volacci” in google Japan. (Volacci の検索結果 約 128,000 件中 1 - 10 件目 (0.08 秒)
Result: 1st position.
If I search with first keyword “Drupal seo” found in keywords meta tag of http://www.volacci.com/ in google Japan. (drupal seo の検索結果 約 2,430,000 件中 1 - 10 件目 (0.15 秒)
Result: 9th position.
In yahoo.com (16,400,000 results for drupal seo)
Result: 3rd position.
Even a seo company is not at top position with its main keywords.
‘Contents is King’ for SEO not a CMS.
You say big project, but can
You say big project, but can you define how big? How many pages? How many pages per month? size of expected user base.
Personally for my own website, I never considered SEO as an important factor, many will say I am wrong, but for me it was unimportant. My site has been running for 3 years using Drupal, prior to that 7 years as a HTML site. I have seen no change to my ranking on Google. I can not say that Drupal has improved my ranking, but I can say it has not been reduced, which in itself is good.
When I started looking at moving to a CMS, I trialed several products, obviously Drupal won through. But I must say don't get hung up on SEO. You may have the greatest SEO on the planet, but if the rest of the package doesn't perform to your needs, and the users, it becomes a mute point.
Spam (my drupal site)
Steve, your site is not built in Drupal. But you mentioned it in your profile (My Drupal site).
Did you read? "Note that if you put in a site not built with Drupal your account can be blocked".
I have notice many people are linking false (My Drupal site) to get a back link from Drupal.
the cms that are using that i
the cms that are using that i now is
