Hi all,
I'm not sure if this is an installation or post-installation issue. I've just had my site host upgrade to version 4.7. There was nothing much on the old site as it had lain dormant since creation so it's a clean site now. I've taken over to develop it. The first job is to change the site name from the default drupal to our site name. However, the new installation will not save the new site name, or any other details in general settings for that matter. When I go into administer settings I get a box with the following two messages in it:
- warning: mkdir() [function.mkdir]: Permission denied in .../includes/file.inc on line 91.
- The directory files does not exist.
These messages also appeared in the older version (4.6) but I was able to modify the site name and other general settings despite this. Is it the absence of the files directory that is causing the problem with the new 4.7 installation? Or is is something else that needs to happen?
The site is live and it's embarrassing not having our site name displayed.
Many thanks.

Do you mean you use the Fantastico installer? The latest Drupal stable version is 4.7.2, and from my experience, Drupal 4.7.0 isntalled with Fantastico will CRASH or break, after a few content, or from the start.
So it will worth it if you install MANUALLY 4.7.2, or get someone to install it for you (instead of relying on Fantastico).
As of Drupal installer, it is in progress, ask guys like kbahey.
