Thanks!
Thanks for a chance to see your new website. I'm not sufficiently sophisticated to provide helpful creative feedback, but I'm impressed with the e-commerce and optional product (papers and sizes) features. Very well done. Again, thanks!
Nice site!
I think your site looks great :)
Also, you have some really amazing pictures showcased, NZ sure looks like a pwetty place - good stuff.

Very clean looking site
Great layout. How did you get the Latest Image/Most Viewed Image/Random Image on the front page? Also like the placement of the Google ads.

Random Images
I am using gallery.menalto.com embedded within drupal. The image blocks, random, most viewed etc.. are being inserted into the page using external image blocks - from gallery (The image block needs to be enabled within gallery).
An example of this is something like
<?php @readfile('http://my-site.co.nz/gallery2/main.php?g2_view=imageblock.External&g2_blocks=randomImage&g2_show=title'); ?>Yes the Ad placement has taken a lot of trial and error. I think that I have just about got it right now.

How are you doing the Google ads?
I love the placement of the Google ads, great balance and not overly distracting.
I noticed the Google ads near the top, right side, and bottom of every page. Are the ads part of the theme or separate Drupal modules/blocks? The ad near the top fits in so nicely that it is difficult to tell it is separate from the body content. I like how you removed the top ad from only the main homepage.
Also, would you be willing to share your Drupal theme?? :)
Just upgrading my site from G1 to G2 and found your site to be the best sample I've seen.
Thanks,
Trent
Is anyone interested in this as a theme?
Trent,
Firstly, thanks for your comments.
The goole ads in both the content section and footer are part of the theme (these could easily be put into blocks if required). The ads on the right are in blocks.
Actually, the ads at the top are common across the site (front page included). On the front page the mission and images appear before the ads. I am using some conditional PHP to place the 3 images on the front page only - which appears before the google link unit.
In it's current state I will not release this theme (there are many things which are specific to my site). However, if there is enough interest I will invest some time into producing a more generic version which is suitable to be released as a theme.
If anyone else is interested please make a post to this thread.

Re: Is anyone interested in this as a theme?
Hi John,
I'll monitor this post in case enough people chime in asking for your themes :)
Another question: On your front page, is conditional PHP used in place of your mission statement or is it a modification to the Drupal theme? I haven't found an easy way to put my g2 image block above everything else on the Drupal center frontpage.
I'm still marveling at your G2 theme. Sometimes I'm getting frustrated over how inflexible G2 can be out of the box. When I installed G2, all I was looking for was a very clean, generic theme with minimum page clutter (like your site). Instead their "Classic" theme has 1-3 inches of clutter at the top of the image page just to show Date & dimension specs!! I know one can go into the G2 theme code and easily pull these out, but we used to have a check box for including these in G1, right?? OK enough of my off topic ranting here. Love what youv'e done and afraid I'm going to have to spend a week of hacking my code to get something similar.

Image Blocks on front page.
Trent,
I am assuming that you are using a PHP based theme?
Put the following in your page.tpl.php bellow the mission and before the content. You can also put your Google adds (link unit) below this if you want then to appear below the image blocks on the front page and at the top of other pages.
With regards to the drupal theme - I will be releasing it at some point in time. If you want a pre-release version let me know and I'll see what I can do. Only works on Gallery 2.1.x - no plans to make it backwards compatible. It is designed as a Drupal embedded theme and doesn't look very good as a stand-alone.
Do you have an existing site that you are upgrading or are you planning a new site?

Hi John,
I noticed your site is especially responsive. Are you running a PHP accelerator?
