magico: The filter seems a good idea.
In 5.x/6.x/7.x dev versions, "?q=admin/node" -->"?q=admin/content/node"

I think #201100: CRUD Implementation of Node Permissions brings a better big picture design to this concern.

There are "delete any $type content" and "delete own $type content" permissions in D7. Closing the issue.
