i have uploaded a picture and it is in upload/pictures folder. i have enabled picture support in user setting. the picture i upload only 2KB. but it is not shown in my post or my comment. what i see is just a link to my picture. do i need to install certain module?

Only local images are allowed.

what module did you use to upload the image?

if the upload.module you may have to check it's settings of the fields display options on the content type in question in adminsiter -> content types -> display fields tab

otherwise, investigate a module to handle images = image.module or imagefield.module depending on what best fits your needs
