4.7 version confusing

Description

What does the gjg 4.7 module do? It seems that you need several OG modules to have the functionality, but the docs don't list which modules are required. I have a site with most OG related modules installed, but installing GJG doesn't seem to do anything and I see no settings links for it. Any help?

Thanks.

Was expecting an install folder, like in the cvs and 4.6 versions.

Has there been an error in the packaging of the 4.7 version?

Thanks for any advice

GoJoinGo is now just an install profile, and contains no customized code beyond some simple modifications to the UI. While there's a little functionality lost (the invite API and the fine-grained permissions on groups), there was enough of this stuff in 4.7 core and which we've added to the "upstream" contrib modules that this ended up being a much easier way to go.

So basically, just grab all the modules listed in gojoingo.profile, and enable gojoingo.module if you want for a couple tweaks. Probably most of the patches in the patches directory have been applied to their respective projects by now, not sure.

Note: I'm actually no longer maintaining this module; the torch has been passed to Kieran Lal of CivicSpace. So he's probably the best person to direct questions to. :)

gjg.profile is listed as a dead file in the cvs directory?

Yeah, when I downloaded it I just got a module, no install profile.

checked again and 4.7 version does have a profile. But I'm wondering whether this version is compatible with other GJG modules such as tabs. When I install gojoingo and tabs it doesn't seem to have any effect.

Also, isn't the whole profiles system a feature of CVS/4.8 not 4.7? And from what I undersand 4.7 modules don't work on 4.8, http://drupal.org/node/64279

CivicSpace has had profiles for some time so maybe that's what Webchick means.

Aha, but there is still no civicspace 4.7 based version, correct?
