There seems to be a problem on the permissions issue. The administer rsvp & maintain rsvp permissions (btw, what's the difference?) should:
- allow only certain user roles to create invitations
- allow only certain user roles to view invitees/guest list

ulf1 commentedHello Deepsky,
The "administer rsvp" basically allows to modify all rsvp default and other settings that are part of the admin section "admin/settings/rsvp". Additionally it includes also the "moderator rsvp" permissions.
The "moderator rsvp" option is restricted in that it allows to manage all created invitations by all users on the website.
So what is then your suggestion? I would think that an administrator or moderator can select any role they want to send invitations to?
Or is this an enhancement request?

websites-development.com commentedWhat I would suggest is to have a functional rsvp
in settings/rsvp/defaults there are a bunch of permission related settings. However, they don't seem to be working for me.
anyone sees the guest list even if
Display guest list is set to Hide guest list
Display guest list inside event/node: is set to Hide
Guest list - view permissions does not have any role checked
In addition anyone can use the send message tab in the invitation page to send message to Entire Audience. I would like to block this. Invetees should be able to sent message only to the author. My settings are:
Send messages: Atendees
Invite other guests: Atendees
Can anyone confirm they're having this problems?

ulf1 commentedThe "send message" functionality is currently intended to reach certain parts of the audience. You always can send the author or any other user an email or contact him by other means.
But I agree that sending a message only to the Author is a usefull enhancement. So I add it to the list of topics for future improvements in the readme file..
Regarding the permission issue, I have not heard of any problems with permissions in a long time and it should work as you would expect.
You probably missed a piece of information.
Tip: When you update the defaults under settings/rsvp/defaults those changes will not be propagated to already existing invitations. You have to update each existing invitations one by one to reflect those changes.

websites-development.com commentednow it makes sense. I have tested it against an existing invitation and not seeing any change...I started to panic.
