Hi,
I'm looking for Menu settings for galleries created by Gallery Assist module. Basically I would like to have menu like this.
1. Primary Links: Galleries
2. If I click on Galleries from main menu, all the galleries in site should be displayed in one page(s) and also 'Create Gallery" link should be available on the same page so that user can
I'm looking for something like Forums module, in which user does not have to set anything other than primary menu links.
Best regards

zirafi commentedHi,
We are really looking for Menu for the Galleries posted in our site. Could you let me know how did you create Menu driven Gallery?
thanks

calefilm commentedParadesi,
I'm no expert (I don't even use this module but might soon) but think you'll need to look into Gallery Assist Views (listed on project page) and the Me Aliases Module: http://drupal.org/project/me which you can use to apply menus to individual galleries. A great tutorial on the power of the Me module see Matt Petrowsky's: http://gotdrupal.com/videos/drupal-menu-navigation-enhanced
you can look into these methods. can't hurt to learn about these modules even if you don't end up using them. I could be wrong or someone else might have a solution for you. If you're out there, feel free to add something--i can use the help as well.
I've experimented with Gallery Assist and going to try the Node Gallery or Views Attach.... Or just simply rely on CCK, Imagefield, Imagecache, Views with an added Lightbox feature display.. anybody have any thoughts as to which module or mixture is most beneficial in terms of expansion and adapting to a Drupal 7 environment?
Thanks

zirafi commentedHi Calefilm,
I installed Gallery Assist View Module already but I did not find any clue to configure this module because I did not see any link in Admin control. I could not even find documentation in Drupal site.
I am going to look at "Me Aliases" module and see whether it helps.
thanks

zirafi commentedHi,
I could not get any solution for creating a menu item for Gallery Assist galleries. I tried so far "Me Alias", "Dynamic Persistent Menus" & "Menu Block" and none did help me. Could you share if you happened to configure this?

zirafi commentedHi,
If anyone managed to create Menu driven galleries on your site, could you share how it can be done?

calefilm commentedAre you familiar with the Advanced Profile Kit? http://drupal.org/project/advanced_profile
If you can get that set up, you can always bring in each gallery on its own into the panels and just make them a link... thus you could make each gallery a separate link... that's what I'm doing for other types of nodes at this time. Haven't played around with the menus yet.
But i'll eventually get to where you are regarding making a gallery menu. If i figure out a solution I'll let you know.

calefilm commentedHi Paradesi,
I haven't gotten to creating menus for my galleries just yet, but will probably just input my "Gallery Create Content Type" into my primary links menus.
As for my galleries, I've used Gallery Assist because I wanted to try out the Coolris module add-on. It's really cool and I'm sure my users will like it a lot. I've also created another type of gallery using Gallery Views. It's really simple to set up and its basically a gallery formatted with the use of Views, and as an added bonus, users can click "Add Photo" and quickly add photos. It's basically all set up for you. You'll see if you download that module.
In any case, I haven't created the menus yet but I'm assuming I can just plug my Node Create page into my primary links. You see, I'm using the User Profile module. So all the content goes thru the User Profile. Once you have that set up all content that is created by users is adjusted to their particular view. So I'm all taken care of in the sense that I can plug any Node Creation page into my primary links menu and a user can immediately create a page that will show up in their personal profile.

zirafi commentedHi calefilm,
That is very good I think. If you can share the steps, that will help me to try on my site. I hope you don't mind to share it.
I already enabled Gallery Views, Content Profile and Views Modules. I just don't know how to use and relate them. If you can share the configurable steps, that will be great help.
thanks

calefilm commentedHwy Paradesi,
I apologize I haven't gotten back sooner.
I meant I'm using the Advanced Profile Kit: http://drupal.org/project/advanced_profile
Familiarize yourself first with this module. Play around with it and watch some screencasts. It will be well worth your time. I'm pretty new at it but after you create a node for instance you can add a node to any pane of your choosing within your page and it will show up in your user profile page. Thus, when a user goes to their user profile page you can click on that particular node.
Before you do anything just download it and start playing around with it. Will take some time but worth it.

calefilm commentedHi Paradesi,
I think I understand what your original problem was now. I can't get rid of the Galleries Menu Tab and realize what you were asking originally. Because now I would like to get rid of the Galleries Menu Tab and place it elsewhere.
Does anyone know how to do this?

calefilm commentedHOW TO DISABLE MENU TAB AND ADD NODE TO USER PROFILE
Regarding hiding the Galleries tab I used Tab Tamer: http://drupal.org/project/tabtamer
Next, I enabled Gallery Assist and also downloaded the Cooliris module and enabled that on my localhost http://drupal.org/project/gallery_assist_4cviewer
I added a gallery called Dynamic Gallery and went to settings and applied Gallery Assist to that particular node. Next I went to Gallery Assist settings and found Cooliris and checked Dynamic Gallery so that the Cooliris effect would be applied to that particular node.
Now when that gallery was all set up I wanted for each user to be able to log into their site and set up their own Dynamic Gallery. In that case, I need to download and enable Panels. Next download and enable Content Profile. Next, download and enable Advanced Profile Kit.
You will see a User Profile Content Type appear on your Content Types list. Ignore it. At least I did because I wanted to create my own user profile. See below..
SO... Now that you have a bunch of nodes you created that you'd like your users to create and show up within their profile.
So let's do one of them, for example. You've created a Dynamic Gallery, right? Or a node gallery.. whatever...
Go edit your Content Type "Dynamic Gallery" and check "Use this content type as a content profile for users"
Now, go to Pages (panels) and find:
User profile template /user/%user
Click Enable.
Click Edit.
Title it. Pick a layout.
now go to CONTEXTS and click Profile Node and ADD RELATIONSHIP:
-you will see:
USER: user being viewed
Identifier: whatever
keyword: whatever
relationship type: DYNAMIC GALLERY (or whatever node you want to add that you are already using as CONTENT PROFILE)
Now, you're in business. Now, go to CONTENT and Title your page.
Find a region and click the wheel in the top left of the region and select: Add Content
Now, once in the new window appears, click Node. Then.. its all about adding whichever field or entire node you would like to add in that region on your page.
For instance, after clicking "Node" select the link Node Content. Now when that window appears select the NODE drop down menu and you'll see Dynamic Gallery.
-override title: %user's Gallery
-link title to node
-show only node teaser
Click Finish. Make sure permissions are set. And voila. Your Dynamic Gallery or Node of your choosing will appear on your user profile pages.
