Autocomplete: Selecting with mouse causes textbox to lose focus

I've got autocomplete up and running in 4.7.2. Here is the problem:

If I use the arrow keys + 'enter' to select one of the suggestions, the textbox gets filled with my choice and the cursor appears immediately after. The textbox has focus. Alternately, If I use the mouse to select one of the suggestions, the textbox gets filled with the choice but then the textbox has lost focus. I'm not really sure which element now has focus.

This can be repeated at api.drupal.org (I've tested in Safari,Firefox/Mac,IE/Win, all have the same result.)

I'm not sure which one is the intended behavior but I'd prefer the textbox get focus after using autocomplete.
