I enabled the spaces_blog sample module from admin/build/features, and then enabled the feature in my user space. There does not appear to be any way to create a blog post. When I go to mysite/user/1, there is no "create blog" button, and "blog" is not listed under the "create content" menu. I'm not sure if this is (a) my misunderstanding or (b) a bug or (c) the sample module is not designed to work in user-space.

kobnim commentedfyi (in case it's helpful in diagnosing the problem) ...
I am able to create a "blog" post from within admin's user-space if-and-only-if the feature is enabled site-wide.
-- If the feature is enabled for my user-space (but not not enabled for the site-space), then I am unable to create a blog from my user-space. (i.e. the 'blog' option is not listed under the 'create content' menu)
-- If the feature is enabled site-wide, but not for my user-account, then I am able to create a blog post from my user-space.

archnode commentedI have a simiilar problem: I created a new feature for the user space. A few tests showed that the user space isn't correctly activated for the node creation page or the views access control and thus the user who activates the feature in the user space is unable to create the content type associated with this feature.

glennpratt commentedSame issue here, I was hoping to use spaces_blog as a guide to make my own spaces_user feature, but spaces_user itself appears to be broken in 3.x.
kobnim commentedI spoke with Hahn Young at Drupalcon last week, who cleared something up for me.
The "create content" dropdown on the user page is not for user-space. It's the sitewide "create content" dropdown. In order to create content in user space, you need to create a local_task type menu item. (At least that's true for OpenAtrium.)
Does anyone know what the path should be, to create content in user space?
In group-space, the path for creating a blog post is: 'mygroup/node/add/blog'.
For user-space, I tried these paths, but they did not work:
'user/1/node/add/blog' and
'user/node/add/blog'

jmiccolis commentedRaising priority here - I think this is one part misunderstanding and one part bad docs.
jmiccolis commentedI have removed spaces blog from the project. It wasn't meant to be more than an example, and it's a rather poor one at that. There is documentation in the Spaces REAME.txt that discusses how to write Features that are spaces compatible.
It sounds like most of you were using it only as a guide anyhow, so I'd encourage you to open individual issues with more detail about specifically what your running into, without all this spaces_blog baggage.
Thanks!

kobnim commentedI have no problem creating features in group-space.
The real question is whether it is possible to create a feature in user-space. I was using the spaces-feature just to illustrate the difficulty of creating a user-space feature.
I will open a separate issue with this specific question.
