Hi there,
would it be possible to code a text field visible and editable only by admins on the submission form, but then visible to anyone in the node output?
This would be used by site's owners/editors to add valuable extra information to content types: for example some final notes, an editorial review, or any other important info that only admins are allowed to fill in.
Thank you

karens commentedI think others need it (I do) but it's going to be hard to do. This would take the per-field privacy options that have been discussed in another thread, and they don't seem to be going anywhere. I am playing around with a way to group fields, then assign access to a group so I could have a group of fields that only an admin should see. It's partly working but not tested and I'm heading out of town. When I get back, I'll do some more work on it and post my results.

marcoBauli commentedKarenS, i read your comments on the per-field permissions topics (actually i am interested too in that, and also asked Bèr to investigate more on it, but unfortunately he arrived at that blind road..), and having groups and admin-only groups of fields is definitely an interesting concept.
I will stick around this thread in the future. Also i am in a particular "bounty" mood in this time, just in case you or anyone else is willing to find a solution to this! ;)
cheers

karens commentedThe fieldgroup module is now in CCK core, and there are more current outstanding issues for adding per-field (http://drupal.org/node/63240) and per-group (http://drupal.org/node/78563) permissions, so I'm now marking this as a duplicate.
