The "Field list" drop-down current lists two image galleries choices:

add image gallery
add image gallery

Please change it to something that differentiates them for users, such as:

add image gallery with links
add image gallery with thumbnails

I thought they worked differently -- one displays only links while the other displays thumbnails (and links?). But since I can't get either of them to work, I can't really tell. :-\

Even if they did slightly different things: then they should be merged and get some options. Now we have two non-working ones, instead of one that actually works.
