I'd like to request to promote the sparkeo case study - http://drupal.org/node/722208 to the front page of d.o.
I think it can be a very interesting read and explaines what can be achived using Drupal and Kaltura together.
The site is a pretty complex Drupal site which exporting tons of services to a very customized kaltura flex based player.
We're active contributors to the Drupal community (although some of the contributions tend to surround exotic types of alcohol) and I think this can serve the larger community quite well.

I enjoyed reading it. I didn't read at the copy editor level, but no super obvious mistakes stuck out at me.

It did leave me with some questions like "how much custom code did they need to write?" and "Did any cool new contrib modules come out of the effort?"

There is a lot of custom code involved which is very specific to the sparkeo implementation.
We and the team at Kaltura are toying with the idea of having some of the features implemented in to the kaltura module - http://www.drupal.org/project/kaltura and there are some areas like embedding in facebook which are certainly being taken in to consideration.
Most of the other stuff where made by trying to reduce the number of modules used so the implementation of the virtual currency and credit system was done using 8 types of user points - but with no special contrib involved.
There where a few patches to flag that I think where created on the way while amitaibu worked with us yet I'm not sure I can trace them directly to this project - mainly regarding the exportability and feature support to flag - which he was very active around at the time.

I think this is close. I'd like to see more descriptions about the roles and individuals involved in the project. That helps other organizations to size the project and get a sense of how long it takes to get a site of that quality launched.

Thanks, this needed a lot of copy edits that have now been made. Since we already have a story on the docket for Monday, how does Wednesday the 14th work for a promotion date?

The problem is that the authored date was set to Feburary, so it wasn't showing up on the home page. This is now fixed, and the case study is appearing properly.

I've made some additional tweaks to fix some issues that occurred when changes were made after the story was promoted. For future reference, changes should *not* be made to case study text after they've been promoted without the prior approval of a site maintainer.

Sorry about the changes...
I did not see it in teaser mode and it seemed to promote my brand (my logo was on the frontpage) more then the story it self.

On another note (I can open a separate issue if needed) - This user http://drupal.org/user/782912 has been a member for 2 hrs and submitted the next comment - http://drupal.org/node/722208#comment-2851378
He's not being very bright here because he has not yet learned the outgoing link is with a nofollow so he's not helping himself very much.
I think the comment should be removed and have him seriously warned (or even immediately blocked).
