I've googled this but the help topics I found on it didn't help at all, so though I'd try the Drupal community. :-)

I am using a separate forums application with the drupal-based website I'm running, everything is integrated very nice (bridged), however I would like to disable the login/register features - or at least remove the actual links from the forums - so users have to register/login from drupal.

Usually a sync would take place but only if they log in from drupal. If they register and/or log in from the forums it doesn't sync.

(Running phpbb forums, phpbb3 specifically.)

not sure how youve bridged it but trying going into phpbb3 and disabling the registration. This is how i have done it on mine and people have to register through drupal. may not work for your bridge though.
