Q: Search Goes to blank page 4.6

slayerment - August 1, 2006 - 02:03

I don't know why but certain searches on my site ( www.riflesnguns.com ) display a blank page while some searches work correctly. For instace if you go to my site and search for ar15 it will display a blank page. However, if you search for something like xm29 it will work correctly. I don't think this has anything to do with no results showing up either because if you search for asdfasdfasdf that works fine also.

I havn't modified the search module or anything. Do you think some other module is somehow conflicting with this? Is that possible?

Thank you for any help, it is greatly appreciated :).

I experienced this also on

I experienced this also on 4.7. I thought it had to do with my styling of template.php and some css classes that I left out. Later I thought it was a cache problem because later it was away. Strange stuff...

So it was doing this and

So it was doing this and then it just went away and you havn't had any more problems? Is there a way to clear my cache?

Thanks for looking!

Yeah, I really didn't do

slingeraap - August 1, 2006 - 10:12

Yeah, I really didn't do anything... How to clear the cache I also would like to know. I also had a cache problem with TinyMCE, that didn't show immediately. After I was looking for solutions and refreshed in a couple of hours, it just was there, whitout doing anything.

I'm working on Drupal 4.7 for 3 weeks now and I must say that almost all modules which I have tried did not work immediately or did not work at all. If this is going on and on, I guess I have to look for another CMS or write one myself because it costs me now more time to fix and style Drupal than beginning from scrath :-( But such a nice thing as an instant search module leaves me trying just a little bit harder and to prove myself wrong that Drupal is a good system. Time will tell, but there is little time left for me and my work :-)

clear the cache

spatz4000 - August 1, 2006 - 12:31

Install the devel module or in the database do
delete from cache

hmmz

slingeraap - August 1, 2006 - 15:10

Just again a blank page during administrator log in...

Cleared the cache but it still gaves a blanc page :-(

Didn't really do anything. I had two windows open of my Drupal site. Seems that this caused a crash or something. I will do nothing about it and check tomorrow if it is up again or not...

About the rifle site: maybe close all windows untill you have only one window left, remove the ar15 and add the ar15 again, maybe that would help?

Never do this

slingeraap - August 2, 2006 - 07:19

>>>or in the database do "delete from cache"

I can't login now anymore -> blanc screen

Thanks

um

spatz4000 - August 2, 2006 - 13:03

Delete from cache should never block you from logging in. You have deeper issues.

Check your apache error log.

Yup, I shouted too fast, sorry.

slingeraap - August 2, 2006 - 15:03

I'm glad to hear your confirmation about that, Spatz :-)

It appears that I am able to login, but that the pages just aren't showed. I think that I already had programmed my pages/blocks to an invisible block or something, before I deleted the cache. I just didn't notice until later... It's strange because I did not touch the pages you see when you're logged in. But I have missed something, that's for sure :-)

I think I fixed this. I

I think I fixed this. I emptied both of my search tables and rebuilt my index and it appears to be working again.
