"Rewrite the output" working whether checked or not

"Rewrite the output" tries to include rewrite variables, whether checked or not. That is, there is data, say [foo] [bar] in the output text field, and rewrite output is not checked. However, regardless of the check variable, it still tries to rewrite the output. This is in the page display, but may affect other displays. Previously, this was not an issue (v6.x-2.7), but upgrade from 6.x-2.7 to 6.x-2.8 to 6.x-2.9 introduced this problem; thus, it may be a problem introduced in 6.x-2.8 feasibly and carried over to 6.x-2.9.
