Release beta2 includes fixes and changes including the following:
- Issue 1505108: File type filtering
- Issue 1545250: cleaned up extra logging
- Issue 1509616: Fix for save file SQL
- HOOK_node_access was too restrictive
- Issue 1572558 - folder access issue allowing non privileged users access to folders
- Issue 1466240 - delete folder perms not working correctly
It's recommended all Beta1 users update. Note, you will need to run the drupal update and revisit your filedepot admin settings because the way the module manages the file types allowed has changed.

Beta1 release for Drupal 7
Noted changes with this new 7.x release from the D6 release
- Install will create a new content type 'filedepot_folder' and a content node for each folder. Files are still attachments like the D6 version
- Using the new D7 file API and the private file system stream
- Support for folder permissions to be assigned by user, role or group (OG) just like D6 version
- New Folder and New File forms using the Form API and ctools modal dialog
- No longer using the flash upload widget that was used in the D6 version file upload dialog
- Removed support for the filedepot desktop client at this time, it will need to be re-written to work with D7
- This Beta release does not include any update from the D6 version, support for new installations only

Release notes
A security-related defect was introduced in the YUI 2 Flash component infrastructure beginning with the YUI 2.4.0 release. This defect allows JavaScript injection exploits to be created against domains that host affected YUI .swf files. The filedepot uses the YUI uploader and libraries - version 2.7.0 all the libraries are by default loaded from a CDN but the uploader is loaded locally.

In addition, changes have been made to support the removal of all non pure GPL libraries from the module as per drupal project guidelines. There were a few libraries like YUI and a jQuery plugin that were included in project which are now removed. The module now has a dependancy on the libraries module. How to install the required libraries documemented in the README.txt
Note about this Security Update without a corresponding Security Advisory
The responsibility to update 3rd party libraries is on Drupal site builders and falls outside of the responsibility of the Drupal Security Team. This release has been tagged security update to let site builders know they need to do something but there will not be an SA.

RC4 addresses a number of issues that were discovered by active members. Thanks very much for their testing, submitted patches and testing. Special thanks to member ldav1s (Leo Davis) but there are also many other active users that have been testing and providing feedback.
Issues addressed in this release include:
Unauthorized access to downloading a file
deleting a folder with 'waiting for approval file records' leaves orphaned node records
more actions dropdown remains enabled when no files checked
Download Links are broken in the search view
Uploading a file changes existing file dates in folder
Search view, folder links and dates are not displayed
On approvals page, there is no folder column or folder links
On approvals page, Date and Submitter columns appears swapped
filesubmission records when approved: ext field not updated
MIMEtype is being saved for all files as application/octet-stream
Should be able to assign tags for files with group or role based folder access

This release candidate addresses a number of bugs and includes the much requested feature to add support for Organic Groups. We would like to get this to a final 1.0 release and will if there are no serious issues. No new features will be added until after release 1.0

Rolled up new release that addresses a number of the reported issues and other issues found during testing over the past 2 weeks that include:
- Folder Permissions not being tested correctly
- Recent Folders should only show last 5 visited folders
- uninstall failing - missing an include
- Better error reporting for file upload issues via the webform
- Prevent non-admin users from creating top level folders
- Hide 'New Folder' and 'Upload' button on toolbar if user does not have any permissions
- Fixed issue generating new folder parent options - not handling recursive folder permissions correctly
- Fixed issues with Broadcast Message feature
- Added a setting in page.tpl.php to allow site admin's to set the right margin allowance (padding/offset) so that application does not use full page width
- Updated the README.txt file to note the dependencies
