You might have noticed our website has been redesigned and reorganized, mostly to address the needs of first-time visitors interested in Drupal. This marks the second step (first step here) of an ongoing effort to streamline Drupal.org.
In particular, the navigational elements and the site's structure have been changed to make it readily accessible. The contents of the main page has been directed to a broader (less technical) audience, focusing on news and announcements. Furthermore, the overall structure of the site's content has been worked on; most notably a feature page has been added, screenshots have been made available, the discussion forums have been reorganized, and the documentation has undergone some structural improvements.
Bear in mind this is an ongoing effort so let us know what you think of the changes, and of ways we can continue to improve the site.
Special thanks go out to Kristjan, Scott, Kjartan, Michael and the rest of the Drupal team who have donated much time and effort further improving the website.

page looks cool. good to see changes in drupal site, since users who are not subscribed to the mailinglist might think the project is more or less dead, which is clearly not the case. it might help to put some milestones/roadmap/timeline online...
i do have a login (bertboerland@www.drop.org) problem however.
I too have issues with this feature
I set up my website using drupal a couple of days ago. I tried to sign in using bico@www.hcgtv.net. It let me in but doesn't give me authorization to do anything.
I have the drupal module loaded on my site and I can see that drupal.org is coming in on port 80 in the logs.
We need some more info on this feature.
cvs is busted now
if you are using CVS drupal, you will finds these members without any permissions. the problem is that these usres are getting assigned to role 0 (rid=0), which is invalid. hope we get to fixing this soon.

Did any of you try it today? There was an issue with PHP not working properly with remote connections. It should be fixed now, if not I guess it is back to debugging for me.

Theme not working

I authenticate via Jabber and if i log in i have a "text-only" version of the drupal.org. When i log out i can see the new theme. Is this a related problem?

However in Mozilla the blocks on the right get way compressed as a result of the poll results on the front page. They have table width of 95% which takes up all available real estate. Not sure if there is a way to make the blocks demand more so they look nice.
Also I miss the Home link. I read a survey on some site that a majority of users don't even know the icon/logo takes you to the front page. I'm sure I can change my habits, but just mentioning it
The book pages also have a very small font size. I guess this is due to the book_view using $theme->box and not node. It should be possible to modify the theme to take this into account. Set $this->blocks = 1 before showing blocks and unset it after, then when you get a box call from else where use a bigger font. I can modify the theme if nobody understands me.

This is a major improvement, in terms of layout and organisation. Yeah good job
1) Now that major amounts of content were dumped, the searches are bringing up lots of dead links, missing nodes. Is there a way to 'update' the content searched?
2) Since the Drupal site is using the CVS version... why not make an upgrade now from 4.0? Is it not ready yet? I am wary of installing the CVS version. Is it not ready to zip up and put out?

I really can't believe my eyes. While I've been playing with several drupal concepts on my home development server, I've really neglected drop.org and drupal.org.
This community has really taken off. Looking at the quality and volume of posts on the development list, seeing the number of publicized drupal sites, admiring the new drupal.org design... it's really fantastic. Congratulations to all
BTW, probably my favorite change is all the new documentation
Keep up the good work. When things settle down at work I might be able to contribute again.

FYI: Template messed up in IE5/Mac
FYI: The new template is kinda bonked in IE5/Mac. The white area seems to start a few hundred pixels above the browser, so the Drupal logo is entirely obscured, along with the first 10 lines or so.
layout bug
anyone seen http://drupal.org/index.php?from=40 ? doesn't look good / as it's suposed to: the blue box spans the whole first content page (at least in ie6 / winxp). no idea why, but this should be fixed more sooner than later.
broken in mozilla 1.1 (linux) as well.
