When I mouse over or click on a menu item that has subitems, the subitems don't appear in IE 6 or 7. It is fine in Firefox, Safari, and IE 8.

I am having the same issue but only in terms of the submenu items dropping behind an image that is below them. I think this is the IE stack issue, it create anew stack index for positioned elements.

If I figure it out, I will let you know. You might check you css to make sure that your absolute positioned sub menu is not just off the page or behind an element...

Yeah, it's definitely related to css, since I noticed it works ok when there is no css. I tried setting the z-index to a large value, but it didn't help. I'll also report back if I find a solution.
