search field should not be expandable

Description
When doing a search with the search field in the upper right corner, a tab for extended/advanced search is added after the search. When expanding this tab, it really hurts the layout, as it squashes the page title. Besides, it is unnecessary because you have the very same tab in the body of the search results page itself.
