Hi ppl, another one of my site in drupal. www.genxcampus.com and so much was i impressed with 4.7 that i have decided to port all sites to the latest Drupal version.

The site mentioned here is for the students at large, and will provide a common platform to exchange/trade books as well as create communities.

Needless to say, your suggestions and feedback will be more than appreciated. We've just started advertising it in colleges, so data is not much to talk about but i hope the site puts across the ideas in the right manner.

Cheers! and Good Luck to us!

Hi there

great site. I liked it a lot.

I have few questions if you don't mind. :D

1- why did elect to use flexinode and not the new CCK ?

2- How did you go about building your search and it options ? Please explain as much as your can.

Thanx

Thanks a lot for the comments.. your questions:

Flexinode- Coz i am vwey well conversed with flexinode and although i did give cck a shot and it somehow did not have all that i wanted.. gave it about a couple of hours before getting back to flexinode.

Search is 4.7 standard, nothing new or custom.

Hi NetCEO

You are very welcome. Least I could do for a job well done.

Care to elaborate on the things that turned you off in CCK? The reason I keep asking is that both modules are written by the same guy.CCK is being advertised as the new and improved way to do things.

I cant locate the search section in 4.7.2 do I have to install additional module? Please explain a bit about your search construction. Did you have to assign key words, tags, taxonomies to the content for it to be filtered upon? Do you need to do anything in the content creation phase in preparation for searches later?

Thanx

One major thing which turned me off was image support. CCK does not have an image field as of now, and i'm quite used to it now. I feel it is much more easier and prefered way of attaching images to nodes as compared to using upload/inline method.

With image field i can always play around with my flexinode template file, but inline tags gets stored in the content only. You may see flexinode in action here too: t h e m o n e y t i m e s . c o m

you'd have to type the url without spaces to see it. My apologies!

I'm not too sure why you're not able to use the search thing, coz its the standard search module which comes with 4.7. You need to enable it in modules and configure your theme to be able to use it.
