Has anyone tried integrating this with an installation that includes CiviCRM? CiviCRM, for example, wants to prompt for a username, which is unnecessary. Also, CiviCRM's registration pre-check indicates that a username conflicts with another when it actually doesn't.

I don't plan to put any work into this and it seems none of the other maintainers do either. If someone has a minimally invasive patch, please reopen.
