It took us 9 months to create www.Twolia.com, an online lifestyle community for empowered and talented women 18-35 years old. The site is centered on a community of creative and entrepreneurial artists whose work includes music, film, television, podcasts, video, and merchandise.

Twolia needed a feature-rich and highly integrated online community based on a social publishing platform.
Using Drupal, Ubercart, and Brightcove Streaming Media, the site integrates our take on the best functionality of YouTube, iTunes, Facebook, Etsy, and IMDb to provide an all-inclusive service to their members, enabling them to promote, sell, and share their individual talents.

It’s full featured social network with features including:
• Twolia Music members are able upload, listen to, share, and sell their own music tracks, albums, and playlists.
• The shop provides sellers with their own instant e-store on a highly targeted site where women can browse, search, and discover unique products.
• The Twolia Talent Contest is an interactive contest where members can upload their own videos to compete for prizes based on member ratings – think American Idol online!
• Twolia Awards will give members the opportunity to nominate talented musicians, filmmakers, artisans, comedians and other individuals for awards. Winners will be selected by member-based popular vote.
• The Twolia Film Festival will create an authoritative user-generated collection of the best female filmmakers, their projects, and cast and crew. Filmmakers will have the opportunity to promote and sell streaming versions of their films! (launching May 2010)
• Blogs offer glamour, gossip, practical advice, and a wide range of other topics.
• TV visitors can watch streaming member-submitted TV shows.

Each section of Twolia.com involves its own complex work-flow, profile and legal requirements, and e-commerce/profit-sharing features. Twolia.com is currently in Beta.

Feedback and questions are more than welcome!
