when the user forget the password and use the get password via email way, it shows an error like this:
* warning: mail(): Bad parameters to mail() function, mail not sent. in /hsphere/local/home/onenoter.com/includes/mail.inc on line 193.
* Unable to send e-mail. Please contact the site administrator if the problem persists.

my drupal version is 6.16
but i dont know how to use the patch, and my host service does not offer the shell service.
