Email to Node Author

I have added a date field with the name "Expiry Date" in page content type.
User will create a node and will select date from date pop up calendar.
User will insert date and create a page node.

For example user insert date:28/04/2010 and today is 16/04/2010

When 28/04/2010 will come , an email would be sent to node author .

I have tried my best to do it with rules module but not found any solution.

Please guide me about it
