Origial Drupal theme for Haiku OS project wanted!

Kokito - August 7, 2006 - 22:34

Hi,

The Haiku operating system project is in the process of renewing their website, and they have decided to use Drupal as their CMS. For those not familiar with the project, Haiku is "an open source effort to first recreate and then extend a most excellent, once-commercially-supported, closed-source, media-oriented desktop computer operating system called the Be operating system (BeOS)" (quote from the Haiku website).

So, if you would like to show your Drupal design skills, and at the same time help an open source project by creating a nice Drupal theme, go ahead and read the details in the announcement on the Haiku website.

If you want/need to contact the Haiku Website Team working on the new site, use the Website Team section of the Haiku Forums, or sign up to the haiku-web mailing list and post a message there.

Finally, the official Haiku logos artwork files can be found in the Haiku SVN repository.

Yet another theme contest and no mention of any sort of reward.

Reward

Kokito - August 8, 2006 - 05:46

Hello Steve,

The rewards are intangible, such as the satisfaction of having your design chosen and that of contributing to a volunteer-based open source project. Not much different from the contributions made to other open source projects, Drupal included. :-)

reward

Well, I'm sure we can give you reward like an email address @haiku-os.org (at least forwarding, maybe even IMAP if you want, but I'll have to talk to Michael Phipps if that is possible).
EDIT: BTW, this doesn't have to end in a contest. I'd be really happy if someone talented worked on it and improved it later if we have suggestions.

Bye,
Waldemar Kornewald

Hi,

Just wanted to let everyone know that the new Haiku website based on Drupal and using an original (but not from scratch) theme is up.

Check it out!
