First of all, thanks for this module and all the work already involved to get all this working, kudos!
I am missing a feature that would be a great surplus on the module.
You know nodereference_url? This would be great for content_taxonomy also.
So you could point to node/add/album/123 where 123 is a term id, and is automatically selected on the content taxonomy widget.
Or on a other way, but the point is that we can preselect a term from the URL.

I too would like to see this feature.

Has anyone been able to acheive this using views, views attach and arguments? If so i would love to see how they did it
